How we earn
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. The price you pay does not change. Articles that contain affiliate links say so at the top.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
We also participate in, or have applied to, affiliate programs run by fireplace retailers, currently including:

The site also shows display ads through Google AdSense. Ad revenue depends on traffic, not on what any article says.
What commissions do not buy
- Rankings. Products in our buying guides are ordered by how well they fit the reader, not by commission rate.
- Positive coverage. If a product has a common failure, we say so. Our comparison articles list real downsides for both sides.
- Placement. Our cost guides and troubleshooting articles carry no affiliate links at all. They earn through ads only.
No manufacturer or retailer has paid us to publish, edit, or remove any article. If that ever changes, the article will say so plainly at the top.
Why we do it this way
Fireplace equipment is expensive and mistakes are costly. The only reason to trust a site like this is if it tells you the truth even when the truth pays less. That is the bet we are making: honest content earns more trust, and trust earns more over time than any single commission.
